Over the last year, I have been fairly obsessively going for a long walk on a Sunday. I usually go by myself, with just an audiobook for company. Occasionally I allow a carefully selected friend or relative to come with me, but I’m very happy to just be in nature by myself. I also have… Continue reading Edington Hill
The Fuller Rose beetle (Naupactus godmanni), otherwise known as the Fuller Rose weevil, is a non-flying beetle. It has a rounded snout and dines on ornamental plants such as roses. This was drawn using a symmetrical drawing guide on the Procreate app for iPad Pro. As with the Miller Moth, this is more of a… Continue reading Fuller Rose Beetle
Lately I’ve been feeling more and more that I want to celebrate impressive and strong women through my artwork. I don’t want to focus on famous people who already are recognised to some extent. I want to concentrate on the ones in my life who inspire, impress and encourage me to strive to be better.… Continue reading Tarragon
The Miller Moth (Acronicta leporina) can be found in British woodland as well as other parts of Europe. This was drawn using a symmetrical drawing guide on the Procreate app for iPad Pro. More of a graphical representation than a true to life drawing. It’s ghostly white appearance is striking against the black background.

Digital drawing of a Hoverfly. This was drawn using Procreate on the iPad and using a reflective drawing technique
I feel safe and comfortable in a forest. I love the smells and the way the light shines through the trees. There are creatures to be found in the undergrowth if you stop to look. I regularly will give a tree a hug. just like the ivy is here. I want it to know that… Continue reading Tree hugger
Digital drawing of a Damselfly. This was drawn using Procreate on the iPad and using a reflective drawing technique. When I see damselflies, they always remind me of little spaceships flying through the air.
Self portrait using Procreate on the iPad Pro. I love experimenting with different mediums which you’d never be able to layer in real life. This one was a mixture of pastel, graphic pen and oil paint. The mimicked textures and feel are really not bad when using an Apple pencil.
