Serpentine Offering was influenced by a sculpture from a Berlin cemetery and a track of the same title by Norweigan symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir.
When I visited Berlin, I was impressed by the city’s regeneration and architectural innovation following the devastation and oppression of World War II and the Cold War. The spirit of strength and rebellion runs strong in the cities veins and has made it diverse, accepting and fascinating – this echoes how I feel about being a part of the alternative culture scene.
Reconcile not with the fear of the snake
But embrace it as your own
Inject it’s venom into your veins
And replant the seed that gives growth”
